Gandipet Lake also known as Osman Sagar Lake is located in the City of Hyderabad. The lake got its name for the reason that late seventh Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan in 1920 built a Dam over the lake to save the city from drowning into flood. Spreading over an area of 46 kms it is the main reservoir for the twin cities - Hyderabad and Secundarabad. The dam built came as a savor of the city.
