Lotus Pond is one of the modern age points of interest situated in busy life of Banjara Hills of Hyderabad city, India. The name of the pond is thus derived because you can find Lotus flowers in wide quantity around in the pond.
Lotus Pond is mostly visited for its luxurious green flora around it and it occupies 1.2 km in diameter though famous for local visitors. This pond is home for about 20 species of birds and some of the spotted birds are moorhen, little egret, little grebe, pied kingfisher, sun birds, white wagtail and common coot.
Construction of Lotus Pond project was started in 1999 and by 2001 it was completed. There onwards its opens for general public with free entry. The Lotus Pond was apprehend as the Eco conservation project the principle objective being protecting the nature beauty without disturbing the Eco system & conserving the natural rocks. The walkways in the pond are with both side greenery plants and you can spot lot varieties of flowers through the path. There are arrangements for benches to sit on for a peace of mind with your dear ones.
Lotus Pond was developed by Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) and they are responsible for management of the park. The park is kept in very good conditions with cleanliness, proper care, and supplied facilities. Lotus Pond timings are 6 Am to 10 Pm and 4 Pm to 8 Pm and it’s opened on all days. Amazing thing about this point of interest is that the entry is free for all. The closest bus stop is LV Prasad Eye Hospital and closest MMTS station is Begumpet.
