The Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad was once the seat of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty and was built with a purpose to attend to royal guests and visitors. Located near the famous Charminar and Laad Bazaar, this palace has a lot to offer to its visitors. Every section is so intricately designed and surprises all with its Nawabi charm.
The architecture of the palace has been influenced by many styles of architecture and consists of a southern courtyard and northern courtyard, complete with lawns and fountains. The southern courtyard has four palaces – Aftab Mahal, Afzal Mahal, Mahtab Mahal and Tahniyat Mahal. The northern courtyard has a long corridor of rooms called Bada Imam, which has been designed with ornate stucco and has royal Mughal domes.
The Khilwat Mubarak is the heart of the Chowmahalla Palace and was the seat of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty. There is no escaping the grandeur of the Kilwat Mubarak, which is essentially a pillared durbar hall. Crystal chandeliers and a pure marble platform on which the royal seat was laid, only adds to the aura of the Khilwat Mubarak.
In the Chowmahalla Palace you can also explore an exclusive collection of pictures from the bygone era. Apart from that, vintage cars, crockery, furniture, buggies and ensembles are all on display. The only word for the interiors of this place are – Wow!
The Chowmahalla Palace is now open to a selected few individuals and corporates for hosting events like dinners and musical evenings, ensuring an unmatched and exclusive experience.
