Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam Ayinavolu

Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam in Ayinavolu which is located near warangal is one of the most frequented temples by devotees to worship and to spend time in peace. Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam temple is believed to be built around 700 Ad prior to Kakatiya Dynasty in Ayinavolu and the temple is since then maintained and developed by Kakatiya rulers.

Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam temple is dedicated to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy who is portrayed as a god with fierce looking eyes, sword versel of blood, Dharmarukm and Shulam in his four hands. Since this temple is developed by the Kakatiya rulers most of the temple architecture is based on the Kakatiya style. The Keerthi Toranams on the east and the south side of the temple bears witness of the influence of Kakatiya Rulers.

Since Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Devasthanam temple is a rock engraved temple i.e this temple is engraved from the rock and also so designed that there is a lot of light falling inside the temple and this attracts the devotees and is one of the preferred tourist destinations in Warangal.
